On July the 25th 2024, the President of E4Impact Foundation, Letizia Moratti, and the National President of Confederazione Italiana della Piccola e Media Industria Privata (CONFAPI), Cristian Camisa, signed in Milan a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at promoting a dignified labour migration, through the placement of skilled African workers in CONFAPI Italian member companies.

Specifically, the goal is to answer to the staffing needs of Italian companies, offering at the same time a real employment opportunity to young africans, besides a proper traning, an integration path and an employement contract aligned with those of the Italian collaborators.

This partnership will count on the deep experience and expertise of the two parties: E4Impact in the African entrepreneurial and instituational fabric and CONFAPI in the Italian one. CONFAPI will, in fact, spread the opportunity within its companies’ network, gathering the number and the characteristics of the professional profiles required. The Foundation, on the other hand, will identify potential African candidates using local selection agencies and then taking care of their linguistic, cultural and professional training, eventually supporting Italian companies in the selection and ensuring the management of the transfer to Italy.

“This agreement represents an important step forward in the integration of African workers within the Italian productive fabric, thus promoting a decent labor migration. At last, a project that allows the matching of two fundamental needs: that of the Italian companies, which risk having to slow down their activities due to a lack of personnel; and that of the African youth, searching for an employment opportunity within a context that is attentive to the human being and guarantees working and living conditions that are finally dignified. It is a collaboration that contributes to develop solid and positive economic and social relations between Italy and Africa.” said Letizia Moratti.

“Confapi has always looked strategically at the African continent, believing that our production, economic and social model can support growth and development in a win-win logic.” added Cristian CamisaEntrepreneurs in the small and medium industry are ready to provide job opportunities and promote social inclusion through employment. Thanks to the collaboration with E4Impact, we have the opportunity to deliver a new vision that points to a targeted strategy with the objective of ensuring a better future for our country, territories and all those who decide to make Italy their second home. A vision,” he concludes, ”that is based on the concept of reciprocal opportunity, in which the skills and needs of the territory and businesses are related to those of migrants.”
