ABOUT

Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of MilanUganda Martyrs University and E4Impact Foundation have launched the first ever PhD program specifically designed for African Scholars. The PhD lasts 3 years and awards a fully accredited degree by the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. It encompasses class work in Milan for only two weeks per year and welcomes 30 students, 15 for each track.

The PhD program has two tracks:

WHO CAN APPLY

Candidates may be:

  • Lecturers already teaching at the University, but without a PhD
  • Young graduates, already contracted by the University, who are starting an academic career

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • Candidates must be affiliated to and sponsored by an African University
  • Candidates must own a MA/MPhil degree
  • Candidates must be a Faculty member of the University
  • Candidates must be fluent in English
  • Candidates must fave access to high-quality internet to ensure participation to all online activities

COSTS:

Università Cattolica and E4Impact will cover travel and accommodation costs in Milan, as well as the tuition fee. The University to which the scholar is associated to, or the scholar himself/herself, will have to cover a registration fee of 1,516 euro per year.

HOW TO APPLY:

The application should be sent by the University and not by the single candidate. Applicants would need to fill in the template letter (see button below) and send them through the APPLY button.
In the template letter you would need to indicate the research project of the candidate, which means the area that your candidate wants to work on. For each candidate you propose, you can indicate only one project.

We would also like to remind you that, by submitting a request to the data controller, you may exercise all the rights granted by articles 15 to 22 of the aforementioned Regulation (EU), which give you the right, in particular, to request access to the personal data and receive a copy thereof (article 15 of the GDPR), the right to rectification (article 16 of the GDPR), and to the erasure of the data (article 17 of the GDPR), the right of restriction of the processing that concerns you (article 18 of the GDPR), the right to the portability of the data (article 20 of the GDPR, if the requirements are met) and the right to object to the processing that concerns you (articles 21 and 22 of the GDPR, for the cases mentioned above and, in particular, in case of processing for marketing purposes or that is carried out via an automated decision-making process, including profiling, which produces legal effects that concern him/her, if the requirements are met). The data controller also recognises, in cases where the processing is based on consent, your right to withdraw said consent at any time, without prejudice to the lawfulness of the processing based on the provided consent prior to the withdrawal; in order to do this, you may at any time unregister by contacting the data controller at the addresses published on the website. The data controller would also like to inform you of your right to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Authority in its capacity as supervisory authority in Italy and to bring court proceedings both against a decision of the Data Protection Authority and against the data controller and/or a data processor.
