Letizia Moratti (President)

Letizia Brichetto Arnaboldi Moratti is one of the most important entrepreneurs at an international level, particularly in the financial, insurance and telecommunications sectors. She is co-founder of the San Patrignano Foundation.
From 1994 to 1996 Letizia Brichetto Arnaboldi Moratti was the first woman ever designed President of RAI- Radio Televisione Italiana, the national broadcasting company. During her mandate RAI experienced a radical internal reorganization, making a significant profit. From 2001 to 2006 she was Minister for Education, University and Scientific Research in the Italian Government.

She realized three important reforms: Scholastic Reform, University Reform, and Research Organizations reform. On 28 May 2006 she was elected Mayor of Milan, the first woman to hold this position and she obtained the assignment of Expo 2015 with the theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. In April 2008 she was appointed Extraordinary Commissioner delegated by the Government for Expo 2015, a position she left in 2011. From 2012 to 2019 she was President of the Ethics Committee of the Guarantors, projects of the Microcredit Italian National Agency – San Patrignano Foundation. She was a member of the Italian Advisory Board – Social Impact Investment Taskforce set up by the G8, and is currently a member of the G20 Business Advisory Board for the Italian Presidency – The European House Ambrosetti. From 2016 to 2020 she was Chairman of the Management Board and then of the Board of Directors of UBI Banca. In 2021 she was appointed by the President of Lombardy Region as Vice President of the Executive Board of Lombardy Region and Regional Ministers for Welfare. In January 2014 Letizia Brichetto Arnaboldi Moratti was awarded, by the President of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano, the honors of Grande Ufficiale al Merito della Repubblica Italiana.

Franco Anelli (Vice President)

Franco Anelli holds the positions of Rector and Full Professor of Private Law Institutions at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. After gaining a doctorate in Business Law in 1992, he became an Associate Professor of Private Law Institutions in the Faculty of Business and Economics at Università Cattolica. In 1996 he was appointed Full Professor of Family Law for the Faculty of Law at Università degli Studi di Parma and in 1997 became Professor of Private Law in the Faculty of Law at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, where he became Vice-Rector in 2004.

Diana Bracco

Diana Bracco holds a degree in chemistry from Pavia University, which also awarded her an honorary degree in pharmacy in 2001. In 2004 the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome awarded her an honorary degree in medicine. She is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bracco, a multinational healthcare Group with revenues of more than 1,3 billion Euro, of which 81% from international sales, and more than 3,400 employees.

Diana Bracco is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Centro Diagnostico Italiano, President of the Bracco Foundation, President of the National Life Science Cluster – ALISEI, President of the Confindustria Fondazione Mai, President of the Fondazione Milano per Expo 2015. She has been President of Expo 2015 SpA and Commissioner General of Section for the Italy Pavilion at the Expo Milan 2015. Continuing a family tradition, Diana Bracco has held many positions in the Confindustria community, the Italian Entrepreneurial Association: from 2005 to 2009, she was President of Assolombarda, the Lombard Entrepreneurial Association and President of Federchimica from 2003 until 2005. She has also been Vice President for Research and Innovation in Confindustria. In 2002 Diana Bracco was appointed “Cavaliere del Lavoro” (Knight for Labour) by the President of the Republic and was decorated with Milan City‘s Gold Medal; in 2004, she was named a Knight of the Order of the Grand Cross of the Italian Republic.

Michele Carpinelli

Born in Milan in 1948. Admitted to Italian bar and Supreme Court and to the order of chartered accountants. Presently Of Counsel of Studio Chiomenti, of which has been partner for over 35 years. He is Chariman of the board of statutory auditors of Enel Foundation. In 2017 he promoted the creation of Fondazione Aurora, a private no profit institution which pursues projects of inclusive socio-economic development by collaborating with young African entrepreneurs to scale up their business initiatives with significant social impact in their communities.

Jean-Sébastien Decaux

Jean-Sébastien Decaux joined JCDecaux Group in 1998. From 1998 to 2000, he worked as a Sales Manager responsible for the launch of advertising campaigns in supermarkets for JCDecaux in the United Kingdom before being appointed City Relations Manager of JCDecaux Italy in 2000. In November 2001, following an agreement between IGP (the Du Chène de Vère family), Rizzoli Corriere della Sera, and JCDecaux, he started serving as Managing Director responsible for Street Furniture and Sales Director of IGPDecaux, of which he is also a Board member.

In 2004, he takes over the responsibility for the Belgian and Luxemburg subsidiaries. In September 2010, he is also appointed as Chief Executive Officer for Southern Europe. In January 2013, he is appointed Chief Executive Officer for Africa-Israel with the responsibility for all the countries on the African continent (from Maghreb to the Republic of South Africa), in addition to Israel, while maintaining his previous positions. Jean-Sébastien Decaux has been a member of JCDecaux’s Executive Board since April 2013. On 1st January 2020, Jean-Sébastien Decaux left his operational functions and the Executive Board to devote himself to the development of the philanthropic activities of the Decaux family. Nevertheless, he remains committed to JCDecaux SA as a shareholder as well as a member of the Supervisory Board since the Annual General Meeting of 14th May 2020. He is also Chief Executive Officer of JCDecaux Holding and President and Founder of the Terre&Fils endowment fund.

Gian Maria Gros-Pietro

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Intesa Sanpaolo since April 2016, after being Chairman of the Management Board of Intesa Sanpaolo from May 2013, he is currently the (non-executive and independent) Chairman of ASTM S.p.A. and the Lead Independent Director of Edison S.p.A.. He is Deputy Vice Chairman of ABI, a member of its Executive Committee and a member of the Corporate Governance Committee of Borsa Italiana. At LUISS University, where he currently sits as a member of the Board of Directors, he served as Head of the Department of Economics and Business from 2004 to 2011.

Full professor of Business Economics first at Turin University and then at LUISS University, from 1974 to 1995 he was the Manager of the Institute for Economic Research on Firms and Growth, the main body of CNR, the Italian National Research Council, in the economic field. He was an Independent Director at Fiat for nine years (2005-2014), also chairing the Audit Committee, and was the Chairman of Atlantia from 2002 to 2010. Worth mentioning among his previous assignments is the role of Chairman of ENI (1999-2002) and IRI (1997-1999). At banking level, he was a Director at Credito Valtellinese (2010-2012), Chairman of Credito Piemontese (2009-2011), a Senior Advisor for Italy of Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking (2005-2009), a member of the European Advisory Board of Rothschild & Cie Banque (2002-2005), a Director of Banca CRT (2000-2002).

Fabrizio Lobasso

Fabrizio Lobasso has been a diplomat since 1997. Currently he is deputy director for Sub-Saharan Africa at the Italian MFA and, before returning to Rome, he was stationed at the embassy of Italy in Chile (head of commercial division), in Greece (consul) and has been Italian ambassador to Sudan. For several years now, he has carried out research in the domain of intercultural phenomena applied to international relations.

In 2017, he founded the first worldwide Chair of Intercultural Diplomacy at the International University of Rome (UNINT) where he actually is adjunct professor. He completed his education in Harvard (public leadership) and Geneva Center for Security Policy (violent extremism). He holds a PhD in Political Science and is visiting professor at the El Nilein University in Khartoum.

Mario Molteni

Mario Molteni is a Full Professor of Business Administration and Corporate Strategy at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan. He is a Founder of ALTIS, the Graduate School Business & Society of Catholic University, an international research and education institute on impact entrepreneurship and corporate sustainability. From 1993 to 2008, he was the Scientific Director of ISVI, Institute for Business Values, a center of research for Corporate Social Responsibility promoted by important Italian universities, businesses, banks, and associations.

In 2006, he founded the CSR Manager Network, the Italian of CSR and sustainability managers from the principal Italian businesses. In 2015 he was named Ashoka Fellow for E4mpact (Entrepreneurship for Impact), a project which currently offers an MBA in Impact Entrepreneurship in 5 African countries. Giovanni Ottati

Giovanni Ottati was born in Rome on January 5, 1963. He is married to Cristina and father of Luca and Francesca. He graduated in Economics from the LUISS University of Rome and then went on to study General Management at the INSEAD Business School in Fontainebleau, France. Giovanni Ottati was until December 2020, the President of Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo, the Association for the development of Italian companies in Africa, the Mediterranean and the Middle East. From 2000 to 2008, he was Board Member of the Italian-Libyan Chamber of Commerce.

In 2008 he created Vuetel Italia Spa, a high-tech international telecommunications service company. The company provides voice and data connectivity solutions and services for large global telecom operators, Isps and multinational companies, focusing on Sub-Saharan Africa and the Mediterranean Basin, where it has its own transmission network both satellite and through submarine cables.
In addition, as of January 2021, the company has launched the world’s first platform for the certification of international telephone communications over the Blockchain network. This platform allows the Vuetel Group to be the first telecommunications operator in the world capable of guaranteeing the integrity of the service through the certification of data on the Blockchain network. In 2020, the Group recorded a turnover of 20 millions euros, 90% generated in the African continent. In 2016, Giovanni Ottati founded the US Roma Rugby Club 1947, of which he is the main shareholder and honorary president.

Andrea Perrone

Andrea Perrone is a Full Professor of Corporate Law & Securities Regulation at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) in Milan, Italy. He has taught at the Università di Ferrara and has been Visiting Professor at the Université Paris X, the University of Warsaw, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Prof. Perrone is the Director of the Master in Family Banking and of the Master in Banking, Finance, and Regulation, both at UCSC. He has published extensively in the field of law and economics, securities regulation, corporate law, and contract law.

Professor Perrone is a name partner at Perrone & Associati, a boutique law firm in Milan specializing in securities regulation, banking law, and corporate law. He also serves as an independent director in both financial and industrial companies. Professor Perrone is the Director of CESEN, a UCSC based research center for church entities and other non-profit organizations, and serves as the President of Spe Salvi Foundation, established to foster inter-university cooperation between Italy and Africa.

Alberto Piatti

Alberto Piatti works in Eni as Executive Vice President in Responsible and Sustainable Enterprise Unit (under the Chief Services & Stakeholder Relations Officer). Under his responsibilities, he has Eni strategy and implementation for Company worldwide Community Investments Projects, Sustainability Strategic Relations, Sustainability Communication, and Reporting. Alberto has a long experience in the no-profit and international cooperation sectors.

From July 2013 to January 2015, he was President of AVSI Foundation NGO, starting as General Secretary (2004-2013) and Managing Director (1996). Since his appointment, he transformed the size and presence of the NGO: from 15 original projects to 100, from 12 countries to 38 (in Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Asia). Foundation’s budget increased from 4.5 million to 30 million €, collaborating with Italian Foreign Affairs Ministry, UN agencies, European Commission, World Bank, IDB, USAID, Italian and multinational companies in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility. He developed the fundraising in the private sector, bringing the contribution at around 50% of the budget with a network of over 30,000 small donors, and introduced a budget management and control systems certification process. Activities have been focused on urban development, vocational training, micro-entrepreneurship, health, education and family, food security, agriculture, environment. He elaborated projects and built alliances in the field of rural and agribusiness development in Lebanon, Argentina, Congo Brazzaville, Haiti, involving public institutions and international research institutes.

Pietro Salini

Pietro Salini has served as Chief Executive Officer of Webuild (formerly Salini Impregilo) since July 2012. He earned his degree in Economics and Business Administration from La Sapienza University of Rome. He began his professional career in 1987, working for the family company, Salini Costruttori SpA, becoming its Chief Executive Officer in 1994, a position he still holds.

Pietro Salini also currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Co.Ge.Ma. S.p.A., Sole Director of Pietro Salini & C. s.r.l. and, as such, Deputy Chairman and Member of Board of General Partners of Salini Simonpietro e C. S.a.p.A. He is also a Member of the Board of Confindustria (the main Association representing manufacturing and services companies in Italy) and Executive Committee Member of Assonime (the Association of the Italian joint-stock companies).

Veronica Squinzi

Born in 1972, married with two children, she obtained in 1997 her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Milano with a specialization in Corporate Management and Industrial Strategy. She started to work in Mapei SpA as Corporate Controller. During this time of more or less two years, she had the opportunity to travel to all Mapei subsidiaries taking care of both the internal auditing and controlling activities based on the market and the competitors’ analysis. In 2001-2002 she attended an MBA at Bocconi University of Milan.

Starting from 1999, she moved to Mapei Strategic Planning Department, and she is nowadays Global Development Director, functioning as coordinator of local teams and trait d’unione between subsidiaries and headquarters. From July 2019, she is a member of the Mapei Board of Directors as Corporate CEO; within this role, she also has the responsibility of coordinating the Administration, Finance and Controlling Area. Luigi Vianello

Luigi Vianello, an Economics journalist and Communications Director of companies, banks, associations, is now Corporate Identity and Communication Director of the Webuild Group, a world leader in the large infrastructure sector. In 2010, he was the Director of Communication and Institutional Relations of the Assicurazioni Generali Group, coordinating all communication activities; in 2008, the Director of Communications and Relations with National and International Media & for the Coordination of Institutional Relations at the Mediobanca Group.

In 2007, he was the Central Director for Communications at Unicredit; and in 2003, the Central Director of Communications and External Relations and Institutional Relations of Capitalia. As a journalist, after his experiences in Agenzia Italia and AdnKronos, he became the Deputy Director of Ansa and the Executive Director of the Sole24ore Radiocor Agency. During his various assignments, he also coordinated educational projects with institutions and universities, holding lectures, including a Business Philosophy Course, at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the LUISS Guido Carli University, in Rome. He is a member of the Scientific Technical Committee of the Master of Economics and Communications Management of Tor Vergata.
