History

2005

ALTIS – Graduate School of Business and Society of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, led by Prof. Mario Molteni, launches a Master for African students in Rome.

2010

ALTIS, in partnership with Tangaza University College of Nairobi, Kenya offers the first Global MBA in Impact Entrepreneurship. E4Impact is officially born.

2012 -2014

E4Impact receives the Ashoka Innovation University Award.
It launches the first edition of the MBA in Accra, Ghana and in Makeni, Sierra Leone, in partnership with the University of Makeni.

2015

Letizia Moratti proposes to Prof. Mario Molteni and the Università Cattolica to transform E4Impact into a Foundation. On September 15th the Moratti Family (through Associazione Genesi), Mapei, Webuild (Salini Impregilo), the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Always Africa Association establish the E4Impact Foundation. Letizia Moratti is President of the Foundation and Mario Molteni CEO.

E4Impact introduces the MBA in Uganda with Uganda Martyrs University in Kampala and in Ivory Coast (the first MBA offered in French) in collaboration with CERAP in Abidjan.

Prof. Mario Molteni is named Senior Ashoka Fellow.

2016 - 2017

E4Impact launches its MBA in Senegal at the Institut Supérieur de Management in Dakar and in Ethiopia at St. Mary’s University in Addis Ababa.

Eni SpA, Bracco Group, Michele Carpinelli and Marco Bartolomei become Participants of the Foundation.

2018

E4Impact launches its MBA in Sudan at the University of Medical Sciences and Technology in Khartoum.

The first Business Accelerator is opened in Nairobi, Kenya, thanks to the support of Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.

The EU funded project SWITCH Africa GreenGreen to Grow, signals the beginning of E4Impact’s work in forming entrepreneurs in order to strengthen entire value chains.

The EU funded project BITE initiates the Foundation’s work also in forming African Entrepreneurs in Italy to aid in their social and economic integration.

E4Impact signs a MoU with Confindustria to support the internationalization of Italian Companies in Africa.

Intesa Sanpaolo becomes Participant of the Foundation.

2019

E4Impact launches its MBA in Rwanda at the University of Rwanda in Gikondo-Kigali, in Zimbabwe with the Catholic University of Zimbabwe in Harare and in the Democratic Republic of the Congo with a short program for entrepreneurs offered in collaboration with the Université Catholique du Congo in Kinshasa.

The E4Impact African Univeristy Alliance is launched, it’s the largest internationally recognised pan-African community of universities promoting high-impact social and environmental entrepreneurship on the African Continent and beyond.

VueTel becomes Participant of the Foundation.

2020

E4Impact opens the Entrepreneurship Center in Douala (Cameroon) in collaboration with JFN Institute of Technology.

E4Impact enters Tunisia with the Italian Agency for Cooperation Development funded project ProAgro and subsequently launches the MBA with the Universtiè Centrale de Tunis.

The Foundation formally establishes the Business Development Africa team to assist Italian companies enter the African market.

Jean-Sébastien Decaux becomes Participant of the Foundation.

2021

E4Impact opens local offices in Ethiopia, Ghana, Tunisia and Uganda, which together with Kenya and Cameroon, make up the 6 E4Impact Country Offices.

E4Impact launches its MBA in Mozambique at Universidade São Tomás de Moçambique in Maputo and enters South Africa with a short program in collaboration with Tshwane University of Technology of Pretoria.

With the Italian Agency for Cooperation Development project DESERT E4Impact begins the training of entrepreneurs in Niger.

2022

Uganda Martyrs University launches in collaboration with E4Impact and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore a PhD program in both Management and in Agrisystems for 25 African professors.

E4Impact wins the “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programme of the Year” award at the Triple E Awards.

It launches its second Business Accelerator in Kampala, Uganda.

Carvico, Montello and Confapi become Participants of the Foundation.

2023

E4Impact opens local offices also in Rwanda and Senegal reaching 8 E4Impact Country Offices.

It launches its MBA in Mali at TechnoLAB – ISTA in Bamako and the Agri-Entrepreneurship Program in Cairo, Egypt, in partnership with ElSewedy Education Innovation Hub and ALEXBANK.

With the MAECI project “Socio-Economic Stability Action in Brazzaville” it begins the training of entrepreneurs in Congo Brazzaville.

E4Impact wins the EFMD Global “Excellence in Practice Silver Award”.

Coldiretti and Filiera Italia become Participants of the Foundation.
