SEE – Sustainable Education and Entrepreneurship: towards an equitable and inclusive VET ecosystem
The initiative was created in response to the structural challenges that particularly affect young Ghanaians: high unemployment rates, limited access to inclusive and high-quality education, outdated teaching methods, insufficient teacher training, persistent gender stereotypes, and a weak alignment between training supply and labor market demand.
The project operates in Ghana in the Greater Accra, Bono, Western and Northern regions, particularly in the areas of Tema and Afienya, Odumase and Nsoatre, Sanzule and Abura, Tamale and Tatale. By strengthening the VET (Vocational Education and Training) system, the initiative aims to improve the technical, professional and entrepreneurial skills of young people and adults, promoting access to decent and sustainable employment opportunities.
The planned actions include modernizing the training offer and improving the quality of teaching in vocational training centers, including through the digitization of VET programs and the improvement of staff skills.
A second cornerstone of the project concerns the strengthening of career guidance and support services, with the aim of effectively supporting the school-to-work transition.
Lastly, specific attention is devoted to promoting innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship by fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, supporting the creation of new enterprises within vocational training centers, and strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) connected to the VET system.
E4Impact focuses on strengthening the entrepreneurial skills of key actors in VET centres, particularly managers and teachers, and on providing entrepreneurship training to students and recent graduates with the aim of facilitating the creation and development of new business initiatives. Finally, it offers training courses to SMEs linked to the VET system in order to increase their growth capacity and, therefore, their ability to recruit new workers.
