I.N.S.P.I.R.E.: Implementing New Solutions for the Professional Integration of Human Resources in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Ghana

The initiative aims to boost Ghana’s economy by creating new job opportunities for youth, with a special focus on women and persons with disabilities, in the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Northern Region, Bono Region and Western Region.

To do so, it is necessary to facilitate dialogue between companies and institutions to bridge the gap between labour supply and demand and strengthen career guidance services. It is also important to develop opportunities for dignified labour migration, foster exchanges with the Italian and international markets.

The main objective is to foster the creation of at least 1,620 decent jobs by supporting the growth of 570 Ghanaian SMEs and improving skills of 4,615 youth through 8 Vocational Training Centres, to meet the needs of the labour market. The project, in line with SDGs 8, 4, 9 and 10, intends, also through quality training, to increase the competitiveness of local enterprises, and to promote an enabling environment for sustainable and inclusive employment.

As part of the project, E4Impact will work closely with its partner University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), creating in its space the “Italian Innovation Center”, which will provide Italian technologies, training, and support for innovation and SME growth.

Other academic institutions will be selected to ensure the implementation of the training courses with a focus on innovation, digitalization, and sustainability for Ghanaian entrepreneurs, primarily through the education of managers and trainers and coaching activities for local staff.

Additionally, in the framework of the I.N.S.P.I.R.E. project, E4Impact will provide a support for research and labour market monitoring through the management of the Business-Labor Observatory and will strengthen connections between Ghanaian and Italian businesses, promoting international collaborations and the internationalization of local enterprises.
