Hi guys, I am Simone Bonvicini and I would like to share my experience in Uganda with you.
Thanks to the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and E4Impact Foundation, I have had the chance to spend 3 months (from March to June 2018) in Kampala doing an interesting internship, during which I have been lucky enough to meet fantastic people and see wonderful places.
In my experience, there have been ups and downs. Initially the internship seemed challenging to me, as I had to face a totally different way of living, working and thinking than the European one. Then, as the days passed, also thanks to our business coach, I got used to the local rhythms and I’ve gained more confidence in relating to people; therefore I’ve discovered one of the things which struck me the most about this wonderful Country: the hospitality and kindness of people, who were always willing to help me and the other interns with a smile.
Speaking from an entrepreneurial point of view, knowing that I’ve been able to help several entrepreneurs fills me with pride, as it has helped me to gain a lot of experience in this field, which will certainly turn out to be useful for me in the future. Discovering and understanding their background and being able to contribute to the development of their entrepreneurial projects was also very interesting for me.
I do think that this has been a unique opportunity for me, both from a working and personal point of view.
I hope I’ll never forget this fantastic experience, the people I’ve met and the wonderful places I’ve seen. I have left Uganda with the hope that it was not a farewell but only a goodbye.
